The VHT program offers veterans and active military personnel the opportunity to learn the art of horsemanship. Horsemanship training also provides veterans with the opportunity to further develop the leadership and communication skills learned through the military.
The Veteran Service Program was established to provide opportunities for veterans who are seeking to give back to the community. Veterans are a valuable part of our community and we are thankful for their continued service. All service projects aid Refuge Services in maintaining and improving the facilities that aid in serving clients with a wide range of disabilities. Service projects are scheduled on a weekly basis.
If you are a veteran interested in participating in the Veteran Horsemanship Program or are interested in volunteering in Veteran Service Projects, please contact our Veteran Services Coordinator.

"The best thing about this program is the comfort. This place is very relaxed and fun. The debriefings were fun and no matter what you have been through, it is easy.”
“For someone in the military like me, it is hard to swallow my pride and say I need help. This was a safe environment to open up and talk. Sometimes the horses talked for me and helped show me the path to help my marriage.”
